It has come to our attention that a store in South Florida has been selling STAR-K certified and sealed Kadosh Kosher Wagyu Brand Beef in retail packages while also displaying the Kadosh name on other packages of meat that don't bear a STAR-K. Consumers are advised to be aware that meat items without STAR-K seals are not certified by STAR-K.
 
In order to protect Kosher consumers from confusion, STAR-K is discontinuing future certification of all Kadosh branded meats. For more information, please contact STAR-K at [email protected].

Morning Fresh Farms frozen vegetables, distributed by Merchant Distributors (MDI) of Hickory, NC, bear an unauthorized STAR-K symbol. Products not certified include broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, collard greens, turnip greens, Brussels sprouts, and all mixes that include any of these items. These products have not been checked for tolaim (insect infestation). Breaded okra is also not certified. Products were found in stores in the southeastern United States. Corrective action is being taken.

It has come to our attention that in certain models of STAR-K Sabbath Mode-certified Kitchen Aid French Door refrigerators - among them KRFC302ESS and KRSC503ESS- the interior lights continue to be operational even in Sabbath Mode.

To determine if your model has this issue, do the following:

1. Set the Sabbath Mode.
2. Keeping the left door and freezer drawer closed, open the right door.

- If there is no light displaying, your unit is fine.
- If you see a light, however dim, you will need to tape down both refrigerator switches and the freezer switch before Shabbos and Yom Tov. Be sure to remove the tape after Shabbos/Yom Tov.

Vitamin Code Raw Antioxidants, distributed by Garden of Life of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, bearing an expiration date that is prior to September 1, 2022, is NOT KOSHER even when bearing a STAR-K symbol. The product contains a non-kosher ingredient. Corrective action is being taken.

Dolly brand Whole Kernel Sweet Corn in 15 oz cans, labeled Product of Thailand and distributed by RD Foods Americas, Inc., bears an unauthorized STAR-K symbol and is not certified by STAR-K. (Those bearing a STAR-K symbol and labeled Product of China are approved.) Corrective action is being taken.

Clover Valley Coffee Creamer, sold at Dollar General stores, bears an unauthorized STAR-K symbol and is not certified by STAR-K. Corrective action is being taken.

Please be advised that effective July 1, 2021, the following brands are no longer certified by either STAR-K or STAR-D: Aunt Gussie's (Aunt Gussie’s Cookies & Crackers); B.A.D. Foods (B.A.D. Foods Co, LLC); Barely Bread (Barely Bread); BudiBar (Budi Brands, LLC); Early Bird Foods (Aunt Gussie’s Cookies & Crackers); Ella’s (Aunt Gussie’s Cookies & Crackers); Real Cookies (Get Real Foods); Naked Granola (Naked Granola, LLC, Cookie Division); Naked Whey (Naked Nutrition); Black Family – Ket’OH Bites (Poppy Industries Canada Inc).

Please be advised that .70 oz. packages of Natural Earth Toasted Yaki Sushi Nori that bear an expiration code of Feb 11 2022 were labeled incorrectly. This lot was not checked and is not certified. Consumers who purchased this product bearing this date must check it prior to use. Other lots of Natural Earth nori are certified when bearing the STAR-K symbol.

Please be advised that Sweet City brand Nori Sheets with the lot codes listed below have been recalled due to infestation concerns. Product must be checked before using, even when bearing STAR-K. Glory Foods Candied Yams, Seasoned Southern Style, bear an unauthorized STAR-K symbol. The formulation includes dairy ingredients as indicated on the ingredient panel and should have been labeled STAR-D. This item is DAIRY, non-Cholov Yisroel. The product is being recalled.

BSH Home Appliances has recently discovered a glitch in the Thermador Professional Series Double Wall Ovens. The Sabbath Mode operation is working properly, but the temperature adjustment allowance during Sabbath Mode is not working once Sabbath is activated.

The following products are affected:

POD302LW - Pro Dbl Oven, 30", SS, Deluxe, Left Side-Opening
POD302RW - Pro Dbl Oven, 30", SS, Deluxe, Right-Side Opening
POD302W - Pro Dbl Oven, 30", SS, Deluxe
PODS302W - Pro Spec Dbl, 30", SS, Deluxe, Steam and Convection Oven

This issue can be fixed through a software update and BSH has already initiated actions to implement the fix within the factory, as well as an “over-the-air” update. Units in the field must be connected to the Home Connect App to receive the notification for the software update. To complete the operation, customers must accept the software update either in the app or on the appliance display.

As an interim solution, we recommend setting each cavity at a different temperature.
